Guardians of Common Knowledge toolkit
This toolkit for outdoor learning was designed as a resource pack for a series of workshops delivered in 10 Schools in London.
It includes a set of cards with fun activities that allow children to develop relevant skills such as communication, enquiry and observation while encouraging them to explore the value of outdoor spaces, inviting them to become their guardians.
The content was developed by gardener, educator and permaculture designer Seema Patel and myself. Seema also managed and delivered the workshops alongside volunteer educators. I designed, illustrated and produced the packs.
This learning resource was produced as part of 'Common Knowledge', a Secret Garden Project. It was commissioned by UP Projects in partnership with Wandsworth Arts Team and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Seema delivered the workshops for the schools with assistance of a group of great volunteers. I attended one of the sessions and documented the use of the 'Guardian of Common Knowledge Toolkit' by the facilitators as well as children's engagement with the activities.
