Creative workshop design and facilitation: Segro Young Artists Programme
I was commissioned to deliver a series or workshops for the ”SEGRO Young Artist Programme”, a collaboration between Creative Junction and SEGRO to “inspire young people, develop talent and celebrate art” guiding participants to create original pieces of artwork under the theme of “The World of Work”.
I worked with a group of 11 students (12 and 13 years old) at Ruislip Highschool inviting them to engage in the creative discovery of  meanings, possibilities and implications of “the world of work” thinking about the role that their passions, skills and values play within it.
Exploring different design research and practice techniques, each one of the pupils created their own original piece of artwork featuring their interpretation of the theme. Additionally we created two collaborative compositions combining all of their designs.
These two collaborative pieces and two of the individual artworks were featured at an exhibition at the Royal Society of Arts.
If you had a machine that combining your passions, skills and values could automatically create your ideal profession, which elements would you feed into the mix?
